Slaves Unite
Sen. Chuck Hagel, ... said "the United States is going to have to consider restarting the draft to maintain its many military commitments abroad."
Military commitments abroad? Where are the commitments to American citizens? Why must America's best and brightest be sacrificed to satisfy political ignorance and blunders? The object of our government is to protect its citizens from aggression not create an army of slaves.
Selective Service, conscription, draft, or whatever they choose to call it, is still slavery. There is no more evil act then to force a human being to kill other human beings. To force a young man (or now women) into compulsory military service and there indoctrinate them to kill on command requires debasement of every moral ideal known.
The evocation of "Duty, Honor, Country" is used to smother the conscience of the individual. Adolph Hitler said, "What motivates people to go and do battle and die for religious ideas? Not cognition, but blind faith. Men have to realize that the state is more important than the individual, that individuals must be willing and ready to sacrifice themselves for Nation and Fuhrer."
